Shri Santosh Singh Jain was born on 5th October 1921 in Jhikola village near Shahpura town of the Mewar State in what was then known as Rajputana.  Shri Jain joined Golecha’s Film Distribution Concern- Supreme General Film Exchange Private Ltd., as its Film Representative in the year 1941, then worked as Assistant Manager in Shri Krishna Talkies, Indore.

Shri Jain’s proved ability and competance made Golechas to promote him and posted him as the Manager of the Branch office of their Supreme General Film Exchange Private Ltd at Bhusawal in 1952.  In Bhusawal, Shri Jain came into touch with Shri H.N.S.Rao, who was  then managing  Famous Picture and who came to be regarded as the legendary founder President of CCCA and whom Shri Jain regards as his Guru.

 Shri Santosh Singh Jain joined and helped Shri H.N.S.Rao in the establishment of CENTRAL CIRCUIT CINE ASSOCIATION- the Regional apex body of the film exhibition and distribution segments of the Film Industry of the Central Circuit which then comprised of C.P. Berar, Madhya Bharat and Rajasthan States.  Shri Jain held various responsible posts in CCCA while still efficiently managing distribution and subsequently exhibition concerns of Golechas.  In 1962, Shri Santosh Singh Jain was elected president of CCCA, and he has been elected President for more than 42 years, which is by any standards of suigenris record by itself fit to find a place in the Guinees Book of World Record.

          Shri Santosh Singh Jain had also been the President of Film Federation of India for half a dozen times. The Film Federation of India is the apex body of the Indian Film Industry.  Shri Jain was honoured few year back by then HE the President of India in a International Film Festival of India which was held in Madras, now rechristened as Chennai, the Capital of Tamilnadu. Shri Jain was also made a member of the Working Group with Dr. K.S.Karanth as Chairman which was appointed by the Union Government on 8th May 1979 to prepare National Film Policy.

This honour apart Shri Santosh Singh Jain was made a member of the High Power Committee of Secretaries that was set up in 1980-81 where he represented the Distribution segment of the Film Industry. Shri Santosh Singh Jain is a co- founder of the Film Distributors Council of which he has been President for more than once and has held its other offices with distinction.

Santosh Ji has been the Managing Trustie of Dada Saheb Phalke Academy since its formation. Apart from the Film Politics his Sanman Group is leading film distribution and exhibition company which is handled by his grandsons. He has been sole distributor of Kodak Stock for more than 10 years in India. 

In May 2013, He along with his Great Grand Son, Harsh was honored by The Dada Saheb Phalke-Kalptaru Award by the HE President of India, Shri Prathibha Patilji. His family is the only family in the entire Industry who has all the four generations active and working at the same time. He is currently the eldest and most respected person in the film fraternity.
